IT150G is a course that focuses on information literacy and research that aims at improving a student's ability to utilize appropriate information to complete a research project. The 2015 university-wide assessment of this course indicates that only 20% of randomly selected student projects meet the learning outcome standards established by ODU, and 80% are in the categories of either "approaching standard" or "need attention". The purpose of this project is to develop a number of measures, such as creating a common teaching packet, developing project guidelines, developing a grading rubric with student exemplars, and creating a sample project bank to improve student's learning outcomes.
