Dr. M’hammed Abdous is the director of the Center for Learning and Teaching and assistant vice president for teaching and learning with technology at Old Dominion University. He came to ODU as an instructional designer after earning his PhD in school administration and management from Laval University in Quebec, Canada.
In his current roles he works closely with the Provost’s Office, the Distance Learning office, college deans, department chairs, and faculty members (1) to conceive, implement, and evaluate processes for the effective integration of technology into teaching and learning practices, and (2) to manage the production of quality online programs and courses.
To Dr. Abdous, technology is not an afterthought but an enabling and transformative tool. With this assumption in mind, he has researched, designed, and developed systems that can leverage the power of technology in facilitating teaching and learning.
