Old Dominion University, Center for Learning and Teaching
Presented by: Karen Vaughan,
Sixteen percent of ODU students completing a Virginia-wide survey say they are extremely worried about meeting course material costs, and 31% are moderately worried. Twenty-two percent say they frequently do not purchase the required textbooks, occasionally resulting in dropping a course or earning a poor grade. Having affordable or free course materials was “very important” to 60% of the respondents. This presentation will discuss Canvas Commons and ways to provide Open Educational Resources and Affordable Course Content that can save your students money and contribute to their success.
