Getting Started
1.Overview of the mySyllabi page

To view a sample of the syllabus outline, click on "eleven categories."

From this page, you can create a new syllabus, work on an unfinished syllabus, or make modifications to an existing one.

To begin, click "Create a New Syllabus" or click on the title of a previously entered syllabus or draft under the Title column.

If you have no syllabi on file, you will see the message "You syllabi list is currently empty" in the Title column.

2.Creating a new syllabus

To begin, you must enter a title for your new syllabus and your course call number in the spaces provided.

Click the circle above "yes" or "no" to indicate whether you wish to allow other faculty members to view your syllabus.

When you have entered this information, click the "Continue" to move to the next page.

3.Entering data into the syllabus

Enter information by typing directly into text boxes. You may edit information that appears by default, based on your user registration, by highlighting it with your mouse and typing in corrections.

To omit an entry, click the check mark beside it in the "Enable" column to remove it. The disabled entry will appear shaded on your screen and will not appear on your syllabus.

Click the pencil and paper icon beside any entry if you wish to rename it. A long box will appear below that entry, along with a shorter box labeled "Done." Type your changes in the long box and click "Done" to move on.

Enter information by typing directly into text boxes. When you have finished with the entries on this page, click a "Continue" button at the top or bottom of the page to move on.

4.Modifying the course schedule

Step 1: Generate an empty schedule by entering the requested information:

  • The length of schedule in weeks,
  • the start date of the semester,
  • the class meeting days.

    Submit the form to generate your schedule and proceed to step 2.

    Step 2: Edit the schedule content by moving your mouse over the option graphic . A popup menu will be displayed with the available editing options for that item.

    NOTE: Save often to prevent losing your data to possible browser or computer problems.

    5.Syllabus Output Options

    The output options are only available after your have completed the syllabus. You can use the 'export' menu item on the main menu to access these options.

    You can export the syllabus to the following formats: Microsoft Word (rtf format), Adobe Acrobat PDF, or Standard HTML

    You can also email the syllabus. You will be prompted for the recipients.

    f. Creating line breaks

    To begin a new line without so much space, use a line break <br> (Note: There is no closing BR tag)
