What should I do if students who aren't on the official class roster are participating in my class?
- Students must be properly registered. If a student attending class does not appear on your class
roster after the first week of class, the student should be sent to the Registrar’s Office to resolve
the problem. No student should attend your class unless registered (due to liability issues for the
University).
What should I do if the official grade report does not show a student withdrawn from the course who should be?
How do Distance Learning students receive their ODU student ID?
- Any Old Dominion University Synchronous Video Course student who is registered for one or more credit hours, may obtain a University ID card. The ID card provides Synchronous Video Course students with access to University-related services and facilities, and the initial ID is free. Replacement cards are $10 each. Interested students may obtain an ID application form from their Site Director. After the completed form has been returned to the Site Director and processed at the main campus, the ID card will be returned to the Site Director to issue.

- Students must request an accommodation letter from Office of Educational Accessibility as well as complete a test request form.
- Office of Educational Accessibility will identify appropriate accommodations for the student and notify instructors via a Faculty Accommodation Letter. Instructors must provide the student with the accommodations listed in the letter.
- Testing accommodations might include extended test time or a distraction-reduced setting.
If my streaming media files are not working properly, who should I contact for technical assistance?

- Class Cancellation or Delay:
- For scheduled absences or delays, inform your Control Room Operator.
- For unplanned cancellations or delays, please contact Master Control at (757) 683-3173 or mastercontrol@odu.edu.
- If these notifications are given, Distance Learning will be notified and can then notify the sites.

- If you cannot teach during one or more of your course sessions, but wish to pre-tape your lecture for showing during the regular course meeting time, you may do so.
