CLT offers three seminars and workshops for broadcast and video streamed courses
Here is information about the three workshops that CLT offers to acquaint instructors of broadcast and video streamed courses with the technology that they will encounter: Classroom Orientation to Broadcast and Video Streamed Courses You are invited to visit a broadcast classroom seminar and experience the Virtual Instructional Assistant first-hand as you sit at the desk. You will see how your video streaming students will contact you to participate in class while you are teaching as well as how to follow their attendance and group chats after class.
Tuesday, November 3, 9-10am
This seminar will be held in one of the broadcast classrooms on Gornto's second floor. Broadcast and Video Streaming Classes: Optimize the Display of your Content This workshop on the preparation and presentation of visuals for broadcast and video streaming courses is offered in order to assist you in teaching on camera. Topics for discussion include: Presentation of the instructor, Presentation of real objects, Presentation of slides and video materials, Presentation of hand-written materials (blue pads), and the effect of movement. A portion of the workshop will be dedicated to hands-on practice with PowerPoint utilizing guidelines for the design and development which will help ensure clarity, legibility, and presentation of content in interesting ways. This workshop will be held in the CLT Faculty Development Lab: Gornto 411. Broadcast and Video Streaming Classes: Course Management This workshop is designed to offer you suggestions for managing the video streaming component of your broadcast class. In COURSE ADMINISTRATION, we will cover: Web resources, bookstore services, materials distribution, testing and student assessment, grade distribution, course evaluation, and orientations to site directors and their roles, the extended syllabus design, and copyright and fair use. In CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT, we will cover interaction and collaboration with and among students; using the tools available in the classroom; and viewing your lectures.
