In this two-part iPad series, you can attend one or both sessions. Session 1 offers A Sampling of Teaching Apps for your iPad: You'll learn more about iBooks, iThoughtsHD, Evernote, PDF Expert, Keynote, Numbers, Educreations, Dropbox, iTunesU, Dragon Dictation, Flipboard, Ted, Skype, Adobe Connect, and FaceTime, many of which offer unique ways to engage and enrich your students' learning experience. Session 2 offers Storytelling Using your iPad: In this session, you will review several apps designed to allow you (or your students) to design and produce a three- to five-minute digital story related to your course content. Participants will record audio video segments and use still images to illustrate their narrative. Apps include IdeaSketch, iMovie, iPhoto, Creative Book Builder, Sonic Pics, Explain Everything, and Total Recall.


By the conclusion of this workshop, participants will have had the opportunity to: Apply four iPad apps as supplemental tools for teaching; Brainstorm and share ideas on different ways to use these apps in the classroom; Have hands-on experiences utilizing many of these apps; Be introduced to the basic skills needed to make an immediate impact in their courses.


Participants will learn about ways in which an iPad can be used to enhance and complement their courses.
