In this tutorial you'll learn how to navigate to the Documents area in Blackboard, how to name, classify, and upload your file, and how to confirm that your file has been uploaded. You can add a variety of file types to Blackboard. The most commonly used are:
| File type | Extension |
| Word documents | .doc |
| PowerPoint presentations | .ppt |
| Portable Document Format | .pdf |
| Plain text file | .txt |
| Rich text file | .rtf |
| Audio file | .wav |
| QuickTime movie | .mov |
NOTE: Macintosh users must add the file extension to the end of the file name before adding the file. For example, if you create a document using Word, you must add ".doc" to the end of the file name when saving the file. For Windows users, the extension is added automatically.
